What is Gunite and why does it make a better pool?
The simple explanation for the superiority of gunite is the amount of water in the mix. Unlike other
methods of applying cement, the Gunite process mixes the cement and water at the nozzle, hence allowing absolute water-to-cement control.
High water content causes evaporation of moisture from the concrete mix leaving voids similar
to the look of a honeycomb, hence, the greater the number of voids the lower the structural integrity and strength of the
concrete.
