When Should I Schedule a Pool Renovation?

Being a full-service premier pool company, Denscot is uniquely qualified to answer just about every question the industry could throw us. If you’re wondering when is the right time to schedule a renovation, our answer is, “Right away!”

I know what you’re thinking. “Isn’t that moving kind of fast?” Not really, and I’ll explain why. Renovations start with a meeting or interview with the construction and design specialists. They'll come out to your property, and talk to you about your pool, what it needs, what you want, what we're able to do for you. If all parties decide that their goals align, we move forward with the contract and scheduling. This process gives you and your chosen licensed professional the chance to hone the vision and tease out the details before beginning the project, which is turn makes the project move that much faster and smoother.

                      (Before)                                                                                                  (After)

There are a few reasons why scheduling a project sooner is better, at least with companies like ours. One, our company can more effectively prepare for variables. If your renovation requires certain materials, special tiles for example, scheduling earlier gives your licensed pool contractor time to get the materials in from their provider. It also allows us to schedule additional support from other service providers in the area should we need to, like an electrician if you are replacing pool lights. The sooner these things are on the book, the more likely that you won’t face a lot of rescheduling shuffles when project time comes around.

Two, calling to speak with the scheduling department in November or December means that your project will be on the earlier end of the company’s renovation schedule for the following spring. First in, first out, see? You get to enjoy your finished pool that much sooner.

Three, you get this year’s reduced pricing. Industry-wide, we have seen prices increase 5-10% each year. Some years, that increase is even higher. Getting on our schedule early means you pay this year’s price, and not next year’s.

Four, peace of mind. Once that renovation is scheduled, you can move on with all the other holiday plans you have, and properly enjoy the last few months of the year.

If you are unsure if you want to renovate, or you're wondering if you even need to renovate your pool, I encourage you to interview a few different trusted, licensed companies. It never hurts to see what improvements they recommend, as well as their cost and timeline bids. These will give you some insight into what goes into a renovation project, and will help you choose a company you know you can trust.

Who knows, next summer your backyard could be the fresh backdrop for countless memories made!
